    About YB Hajah Nancy Binti Haji Shukri

    Appointed on 16 May 2013, YB Hajah Nancy binti Haji Shukri is the Minister in charge of law in the Prime Minister’s Department and is the Member of Parliament for the constituency of Batang Sadong, Sarawak, since 2008. Among others, under the Ministry, she is responsible for the Legal Affairs Division, the Legal Aid Department, Office of the Chief of Registar, the Advisory Board, the Land Public Transport Commission, the Judicial and Legal Service Commission, the Malaysian Department of Insolvency, the Protection Unit, the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre of Arbitration and the National Legal Aid Foundation.


    YB Hajah Nancy holds a Bachelor of Law (Honours) from Hull University, and an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ohio University. YB Hajah Nancy was previously attached as the Head of Department for the Legal Affairs Departments in the Kuching North Municipal Council. Subsequent to this, she founded NS Training and Consultancy Services, before being called to serve public office. She has been heavily involved in social activism scene through her previous involvement as the Chairman of Sarawak Federation of Women's Institute and the previous Chairperson of the Malaysian Women's Parliamentary Caucus.
